ABB have an opportunity for an Engineering Resource Manager to join our Process Automation – Oil, Gas & Petrochemical (OGP) Service business based in our Aberdeen office.
The successful candidate will manage and deliver the team’s engineering resource, ensuring optimum coverage to fulfil operational needs whilst satisfying the utilisation demands of the business.
The successful candidate will ideally have a strong Engineering background in the Oil & Gas sector, preferably from an Automation / Control Systems background.
This role will suit an Engineering Manager or Senior Project Manager with business acumen, reporting directly into the LBU Service Manager for Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Service business unit within the Process Automation Division of ABB.
Main Accountabilities:
- Effective delivery of plans and agreements with the wider ABB to enhance the in-house Engineering resource capability and capacity as required
- Ensure all project and health care activities are resourced effectively and efficiently
- Maintain and evolve the engineering resource function organisational structure and communication plan
- Develop and enhance the resource function processes and procedures
- Clearly define and document stakeholder responsibilities
- Developmental support of the resource function team leaders
- Conduct and communicate regular internal progress reviews
- Management of wider resource team across a range of skills and experience
- Support the creation and implement the ABB strategy towards the customer, through understanding the customer, its business, its strategy and their industry. Ensuring this translates into a strategic business action plan that demonstrates optimum use of appropriate resources.
- Delivering the Business balanced scorecard across the existing portfolio.
- Maximise the scope of the existing portfolio ensuring adequate levels of resources are maintained with the capability and capacity for delivering optimum OGP service delivery.
- Support the development of the Service strategy and create a framework that allows the team to perform effectively and deliver the OGP Service portfolio.
- Work with the OGP Service Manager on planning future resource requirements.
